How we quote, what a fixed price covers, when the site becomes yours, and what happens when something goes wrong. No traps buried in clause 14.

The full terms are below and they are the ones that count. This is the gist.
This part applies to anyone reading satrostudios.com, whether or not you ever become a client.
satrostudios.com is operated by mandrebam (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in South Africa, trading as Satro Studios. You can contact us at info@satrostudios.com.
By using this website you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
We publish our prices openly because we think hiding them wastes everybody's time. Those prices are real and current, and they are what we will charge for the work as described.
What a published price does not do is cover work outside that description. A one-page site at R4,500 is a one-page site. If you need eight pages and a booking system, the price for that is a different number, and we will quote it before any work begins rather than surprise you with it afterwards.
We may change our prices for future work at any time. A price we have already quoted to you in writing is held for 30 days from the date we sent it.
The text, design, code and images on this site belong to us, except where they belong to our clients. You are welcome to read it, quote it with attribution, and link to it. You may not copy the site wholesale and pass it off as your own.
Client work shown on this site is published with the relevant client's permission and remains their property.
Where we link to another website, that is not an endorsement and we have no control over what it does. Those sites have their own terms and their own privacy practices.
This part applies once you engage us for a project. Together with your written quote, it forms our agreement. Where the two ever disagree, your quote wins.
You tell us what you need. We send you a written quote setting out the scope — the pages, the functionality and the price. Nothing is binding until you accept that quote in writing and pay the deposit.
That quote is the definition of the project. It is worth reading properly, because almost every disagreement in this industry comes down to two people holding different pictures of what was being built.
Prices quoted are in South African Rand.
We cannot build your site alone. We need your text, images, logo and brand materials, and we need your feedback at the points where we ask for it.
If you supply content, you confirm you have the right to use it. We are not able to verify the ownership of every photograph and paragraph handed to us, and we rely on you for that.
Our published turnaround for a one-page site is five working days. Larger builds are quoted with an estimated timeline rather than a fixed date, because the honest truth is that most delays are caused by waiting on content and approvals rather than by the building itself.
Those estimates assume you come back to us within a reasonable time. If a project goes quiet on your side for more than 30 days, we may treat it as paused and reschedule it around other work.
Revisions are unlimited within the agreed scope. We would rather you told us the heading is wrong for the fourth time than lived with a site you dislike.
"Within scope" means changes to what we quoted for — the wording, the images, the colours, the layout and the arrangement of the pages in your quote.
None of this happens silently. If we think a request falls outside scope, we will tell you before we do the work, and you can decide whether you want it.
On final payment, the site is yours outright. That means the files, the domain and the analytics, registered in your name. We do not hold your domain hostage, we do not keep a copy of the site that only works while you keep paying us, and you are free to take it to another developer whenever you like.
Until final payment is made, the work remains ours. This is what protects us if a project is abandoned halfway, and it is the only reason ownership is tied to payment at all.
Two sensible exceptions: anything you supplied stays yours throughout, and any third-party component — a plugin, a font, a stock photograph — stays under its own licence, which we will tell you about.
Unless you ask us not to, we may show the finished site in our portfolio.
We publish specific commitments and we stand behind them. Every build includes mobile and desktop layouts, SSL, a working contact form, and a 90+ mobile speed score, measured on the site as we hand it over.
That score is a measurement of what we built, not a permanent guarantee of what happens next. Heavy plugins, large uncompressed images and third-party tracking scripts added afterwards will slow any website down. If that happens we are happy to look at it, and if the cause is something we did we will fix it at no charge.
Some things a website needs are bought from somebody else — a domain name, a premium plugin or theme, stock photography, a payment gateway's fees. These are charged at cost and are not included in a quoted build price unless the quote says so.
We will tell you about any such cost before it is incurred. You will never find one on an invoice you did not expect.
You can cancel a project at any time by telling us in writing. The deposit is not refundable once work has started, as set out in clause 06, and anything already completed and invoiced remains payable.
We may end a project if invoices go unpaid, if we are unable to get the materials we need to finish, or in the rare case where a working relationship has broken down. If we end a project for a reason that is ours rather than yours, we will refund you for work not done.
Whatever the reason, you keep everything you have paid for.
We do the work carefully and we take responsibility for our own mistakes. What we cannot accept is unlimited liability for things flowing from a website rather than caused by it — lost profits, lost business, or loss of data on systems we do not control.
Our total liability for any claim relating to a project is limited to the amount you paid us for that project.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under South African law, including under the Consumer Protection Act.
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction.
If something goes wrong, email us first. Nearly everything is cheaper and faster to fix in a conversation than in a legal process, and we would rather resolve it that way.
We may update these terms, and the date at the top of the page will change when we do. The version that applies to your project is the one in force on the day you accepted your quote. We will not change the deal underneath you partway through a build.
Questions about any of this go to info@satrostudios.com, and a person will reply inside two working days.
How we handle your personal information is a separate document — see our privacy policy.
